Restoring Wood Floors

Learn best practices for repairing, refinishing, and caring for wood floors.

Learn how to restore and maintain your vintage wood floors. Led by Charity Stowe of Herstoric Construction, see step-by-step demonstrations of work on vintage wood flooring including sanding, repairing, staining, and protecting, as well as tips for ongoing care. No prior knowledge or experience required.

Participants can choose between two workshop times: September 4 at Noon or September 4 at 6 p.m. The workshop lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and will take place at a property in South Bend undergoing rehabilitation. Note: Due to the workshop location, the event is not accessible to all. Attendees should wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty.

This event is one in a series of trades training workshops presented by Indiana Landmarks and South Bend TradeWorks aimed at equipping historic homeowners with DIY knowledge and contractors with in-demand skills to offer clients with historic building repair needs.
